Ok, it arrived this morning. Here’s the quick first impression from playing around with it just a little today — there are better reviews out there than what you’ll get from a relatively non-geek like me, though.
1) It looks cool, as you can tell from photos. Nice modern sleek design, obviously iPhone-inspired.
2) It’s bigger than the Curve — longer and wider — a little thinner, but not much.
3) The keyboard feels different from the Curve — keys are kind of curved, they feel smaller though I think that may just be that they are close together. But the keyboard has a great feel to it — very easy to get used to.
4) The screen really is amazing. So bright. Easy to see everything, great for rapidly-aging eyes like mine.
5) The back has some sort of fake leather padding on it that feels kind of cheap, to be frank, but you get used to it.
6) Man, the 3G network and its connection to our exchange server is fast — I had a rapidfire email conversation with a colleague earlier this afternoon, and the Blackberry kept up, with emails coming rat-a-tat-a-tat.
So, first day in, I’m very happy indeed. I loved my Curve, but the Bold is wow.
The battery definitely has a shorter lifespan than the one on the Curve — I’m having to charge it every day whereas I used to only charge the Curve a few times a week. But that’s a minor inconvenience as far as I’m concerned because the Bold is so much better overall than the Curve. Easy-to-read emails, a keyboard that feels great on the thumbs, works much better as a phone than the Curve did, a better (but not perfect) browser — love it. There are lots of other applications and features but I’m not one to judge them (gps, media, etc.) because I don’t use them.

Be wary of people who value being "right" above all. They make good actuaries, perhaps even good attorneys, but they make lousy association leaders. (Even if you are an association of actuaries or attorneys.)
Post a review once you’ve had it a while.
Well, I haven’t GOT it yet. But once I do, I will.

How’s the battery life now that you’ve had it for a week or so? Still like it overall?
