Oh, come on Kevin, give it a try! It’s all the rage…;>)

Ditto to Jeff. My colleagues would point and laugh if I referred to ASAE as “ASAE and The Center.” We have a shopping center that has been known from Day One as “Gateway.” The new owners called it “Westfield Shoppingtown Gateway” and put up signs declaring it so. We continued to call it “Gateway.” The owners have since dropped “shoppingtown” (happily) but we still call it Gateway. “ASAE and The Center” is an affectation, kind of like THE Ohio State University.

Cheryl, with all due respect, I don’t think of “ASAE & the Center” as an affectation. I was teasing Kevin with my post. I actually will refer to the organization in this way, because the point is to recognize that ASAE & the Center as a single entity is much more than the sum of its parts. I didn’t always believe it would be possible to achieve that, and I will maintain a healthy skepticism about where things go from here. But I’m feeling better about where we are today than I did before the Annual Meeting. So I figure the least I can do is call the organization by the name it chooses. But I may be more comfortable with that because I am a graduate of THE Johns Hopkins University!
